First established in 1991, Southgate Brasserie at Van Dyk quickly gained a reputation as the place to be for the finest grill food in Derbyshire.
Our relaxed restaurant serves up seasonal specials to ensure you are always getting the freshest, tastiest dishes in the region. Lunchtime and evening dishes range from grill favourites alongside the restaurant’s signature Beef Bourguignon and an extensive sweet menu. Lively and welcoming, the re-imagined restaurant fuses Van Dyk’s iconic elegance with a contemporary tone and creative detail.

Our Executive Chef has a passion for premium ingredients that look good, taste good and that are good for you. That’s not to say we won’t indulge you a little too, however!
The Chapel offers a varied menu, specially selected taster menu option, exquisite wines and carefully concocted cocktails to allow you to fully experience its welcoming surroundings and hospitable team. Informal luxury is what The Chapel is all about.
The Chapel dress code is ‘smart casual’ and we respectfully ask guests visiting the hotel to refrain from wearing baseball caps, beanie hats, ripped jeans, sportswear, trainers, flip-flops and shorts in our restaurant.
With sophisticated, contemporary interiors and menus to match, Benedict’s will become the go-to place to eat and drink in Chester. Launching at our new Wildes hotel early 2023.
